I have felt for a bit that I need to make a post but I cant narrow it down to what. I always have several things floating around in my head. Job search hasnt changed, well it has stalled. I have another shift and am starting to get involved in some other things as well.
One of those is helping with the planning for the Christian Peace Witness for Iraq. There should be a badge appearing on this page in the next couple days with a link to the official website. Its gonna be pretty crazy. We are hoping for thousands of Christians to participate in DC and more around the country at local worship services. On the four year anniversary of the war it has to be clear that this is not the will of the majority of the country. I really believe that. For those who don't openly oppose the war I can only believe that they don't really know what is going on. I don't think it was just "blood for oil," that is too simplistic. I also don't believe those in charge really thought enforcing democracy would (or will) work in that part of the world. They have to want it , see the value of it and be willing to work for it. I greatly doubt the whole thing was really explained to any Iraqi.
Most disgusting now is that this war, in which many people die daily, is becoming a political tool to change the balance of party power. What are they thinking? Oh yeah, thats right, that the lives of real Iraqi people are not worth as much as one more democratic senator holding office.
