I hate Starbucks coffee

I am finding that I don't like exceptionally strong coffee anymore.
I used to appreciate strong coffee. I used to love going to
Greyfriar's in Chattanooga. If you have any kind of affinity for
coffee shops or good coffee and you find yourself in Chattanooga you
have to go check this place out. They have four kinds of coffee
(with free refills), one is decaf the other three are usually from
different parts of the coffee producing world. Add to that free
wireless internet and a fair amount of seating. This is the best
coffee shop in the world. And I have been on the lookout.

Since moving to Hyde Park, nothing compares. The Third World Cafe on
53rd is ok, they have wireless available if you spend a certain
amount of money there, which I understand. I always made sure that I
bought a cup at GF's before using their internet. Medici has decent
coffee but no internet, I think they might be fair-trade. The
easiest place to find around here is Starbucks. I have been drinking
a lot of Starbucks lately. And this is what I attribute my recent
dislike. Starbucks is shit coffee. Im sure many of you wonder why I
would say such a thing "their frape is great" you might say. this is
true, their fancy fru-fru drinks are great but order a ordinary cup
of joe and tell me the same thing. when I order I usually hear a
slight gasp, as if to say "you actually drink this stuff?!" And yes,
unfortunately I do. Right now I am at Salonica on the corner of
Blackstone and 57th. No wireless, no coffee from around the world.
This is just a diner and they just have diner coffee. At the moment
I am extremely grateful.

Yes, my favorite coffee shop is a place in Asheville called Mallaprop's. It's an independent bookstore, cofee shop, and has wireless, and, most importantly GREAT no-frills coffee from around the world. Good stuff. The one here in Bryson is pretty good too, their French Roast is the best. I like Starbucks Caramal Machiato, but you're right their reg. coffee sucks.
p.s. how's the wedding planning going?
